  • Call for November Volunteers

    Call for November Volunteers

November is a busy time for the P.S. 153 PA, and we need your help! We have two fantastic community events planned and are looking for volunteers to make them a success.

    • Election Day Bake Sale (Tuesday, 11/4): We’ll be on the sidewalk at P.S. 153 selling baked goods to voters. Last year, we raised over $900, and we’re hoping for another great event!
    • Family Game Night (Monday, 11/10): Join us in the P.S. 153 cafeteria for a night of family fun! We’ll have Uno tournaments, games for preschoolers, and a few rounds of BINGO.

    How You Can Help:

For both events, we need volunteers for set-up, day-of support, and cleanup. For the bake sale, we are also looking for donations of store-bought or homemade baked goods.

Can we count on you this November? Please sign up using the form below, and a PA member will reach out to get you plugged in.

  • 5th Grade Pictures

    Dear 5th grade parents,

Congratulations! You and your child are getting ready for middle school after this year! We hope your journey at PS 153 has been a good one!

Regarding a student photo, this is a special note to you letting you know that you will have the opportunity to purchase a photo package 2 times this year.

The first time is now and this will be the only time a class photo will be taken during this school year. If you want to purchase a class photo, please do so now.

The second time will be later in May so that you receive your package in time for graduation.

This will be a separate order and the PA is considering using a different photographer or company for this to see what else is offered when it comes to graduation packages for our students.

  • About Picture Day 2025

    Dear PS 153 Parents,

Your Parent Association is excited for this year’s School Picture Day as we capture our kids in another year of their elementary school education journey. Here’s what you need to know:

    Date: Thursday, October 16th

Each class will come to the auditorium at their designated time and photographers will take:

    • A class photo with all students and teacher(s) taking their picture together at the same time!
    • An individual back-up class photo picture pose
    • An individual student photo pose

If purchasing using using the envelope order form, please fill it out completely:

    • Choose your package
    • Choose your back ground
    • Fill out:
      • Student’s Name
      • Their Teacher’s Name
      • Their Grade
      • Their Class Number
      • The best phone number to reach
      • Please put exact amount of money in the envelope for your order

If purchasing online, please send in your envelope and fill out the Order # on your envelope.

Dress your child how you wish and the photographers will do their best to bring out their best smile for the camera!

Sibling and Make-Up Picture Day will be the following week~

    Date: Thursday, October 23rd

You will need a separate envelope for a Sibling Picture package; please bring on this day.

Regarding the siblings in the photo – as long as one of the children in the photo is a student at PS 153, any of their siblings can be in the photo with them!

This means that you can bring in any younger or older sibling to the school for them to get their picture taken together.

As long as a parent is able to bring all outside siblings who do not attend PS 153 to the school for this picture to be taken with their sibling who is a student at PS 153- they can take the picture together and you can purchase a package.

Once the picture is taken, the PS 153 student will return to class; the parent(s) and sibling(s) will be dismissed from the school.

Thursday, October 23rd will also be Make-Up Day in case your child missed Picture Day on Thursday, October 16th.

Please visit the PA website if you have any questions about how to order your package(s), or any other questions you may have.

Lastly, if you would like to volunteer on picture day to help with student flow, helping them look their best, smiling, please sign up on our volunteer form.
